The "knitting" from Cr00k in the street was olympic class.

Yes carrot and he's able to bump up and down on the horse's back at the same time! The stewards and pundits will say he was 'driving' the horse.

I have another name for it (knitting comes close!).

Evens in to 2/5 and the only rival loses the race at the start. Easy pickings for the clairvoyants.

To be fair, Samovar loses the race at the start pretty frequently.

So far this year Samovar has had a "slowly into stride", a "slowly into stride and lost several lengths start" and "unseated rider start".

You didn't really need to be clairvoyant to lay it at odds on.

Sure he's done it before and obviously it's not a massive shock he's done it again. However he doesn't do it every time by any means and the betting patterns were unusual imo. Evens into 2/5 is very rare. Anyone would be within their rights to raise an eyebrow at it.

Sure, raise an eyebrow. You certainly can't discount the possibility that some people backing the winner were doing so more in expectation than hope.

But I don't think the betting stank as much as it appears at first glance. There's no way Samovar should have been favourite in the first place with that record, and the drift was more a correction.

I tried to lay a monkey at 1.91 overnight, and I definitely am not privy to any bent races on the all-weather.

Good work, screaming. Not disputing your point of view at all or that Tricky Dicky should have been fav.

The betting looked very odd and hence i left the race alone. The weird betting followed by the horse getting left at the start didnt look good for the integrity of racing.
