Seller in clover
Buyer more money than sense
Report Barton Bank February 18, 2019 4:02 PM GMT
There are far better ways of spending 350k on a racehorse than buying a 10 year old chaser with a lot of miles on the clock and a high handicap mark.
Report Deltâ February 18, 2019 4:03 PM GMT
not many that can go GC and National a few months on tho BB
Report Twoboyz February 18, 2019 4:04 PM GMT

It must have a great chance in the National but 350k Shocked - must have more money than sense.
Report Barton Bank February 18, 2019 4:58 PM GMT
That is true Delta. But he's got nay chance in a Gold Cup. Lot of eggs going in the Aintree basket.
Report One Nation February 18, 2019 4:58 PM GMT
Better off Having £10k on it at 50/1, hiring a box at the course for £10k and being £330k better off when it unseats at the first.
Report Burkey1885 February 18, 2019 5:45 PM GMT
Money that’s been payed for horses now is laughable
They are going for 100 k nowadays fir winning a ordinary point race
Crazy prices add be off to new Zealand were u wd get a real horse for 100 not a flash in the pan !
Report Barton Bank February 18, 2019 5:50 PM GMT
People are buying into a dream with these once raced point winners. Over 90 percent of them are over priced.
Report isleham February 18, 2019 5:57 PM GMT
much more than 90% i think
Report Barton Bank February 18, 2019 5:58 PM GMT
Probably, I would need to do a lot of useless research to arrive at an accurate figure.

Darren Yates organised the sale without Kirby's intervention.  He aims to make a profit on the deal by winning the Grand National.  Another filthy property developer pi$$ing on our great nation!
Report kevinglass February 19, 2019 1:57 PM GMT
If he aims to make a profit by winning the National, he hasn't got very good odds if he spent 350k.....
Report sixtwosix February 19, 2019 6:15 PM GMT
Had his chance crossing the Melling Road in 2017 .
Report bustino February 19, 2019 6:31 PM GMT

JP different leaque spends big money but just a hobby but sure as fcuk has arrangement with betfair/**** backing laying with a trading office tucked away in switzerland or gibralta

And even worse connell one was a million for Our Connor, the list is endless with him.
Report GEORGE.B February 19, 2019 7:34 PM GMT
Would he have got a chunk back from the insurance for Our Conor (RIP)?
Report doorman99 February 19, 2019 8:10 PM GMT
These people rarely insure them George especially jumpers, stallion prospects on the flat for sure but OC I very much doubt.
Report GEORGE.B February 19, 2019 10:55 PM GMT
yes doorman, thinking about it, presumably insurance premiums for jumpers would be quite high and not economically feasible?
Report isleham February 19, 2019 11:19 PM GMT
Annual premium for a hurdler 4/5% of insured amount
Report GEORGE.B February 19, 2019 11:29 PM GMT
I have heard / read stories before where people who have lost a horse, have said they bought another with the insurance money, but suppose if you have a fairly large string of expensive jumpers, the insurance premiums would be sky high!
