Which is worse,a ride like that where he was no assistance to the horse or a ride like Ryan Moore's on the Hannon's in the last at Lingfield where he stopped riding for second?

No financial interest here. Just watched it (not live). That was disgraceful. Not even an attempt to get involved in the race. The sport is essentially unpoliced as we know.

I'll qualify my comments by fully admitting I don't know what chance the horse had on the book. Or whether I would have wanted to be on at 11/10 or not if I studied the race fully. He's not tried an inch regardless.

It was there to win. Horse is hard to settle and hard to win with. All it's wins have been on the snaff off a good pace. All wins but one at a mile. 10 furlong races can pose a pace problem.

Following the race, Richard Kingscote reported that SHARP OPERATOR, placed sixth, was denied a clear run and Joshua Bryan reported that LIFEBOAT (IRE), unplaced, found little when asked for an effort.
That's alright then !
