Home today so watching Ayr meeting and I have to make these observations. Only time will tell if Im right or wrong. The2.35 looked a crooked race with the second favourite Divine Port (ridden by H Brooke) a drifter before the race and ridden way off the pace and given no chance whatsoever finished well and looked to have more running left. The winner Fiddlers Bow (trained by Julia Brooke related to H Brooke) was well backed and won well enough for a horse 10 years old but was 1 win from 16 runs over fences but none from at 2miles. I realise this had been running in Ireland in the past but its previous trainer (no mug) couldnt get a tune out of it at all?
The following race was a gift for the Irish trained Apache Jack (no form over 2miles) made all and only challenger in race was the other Irish runner Bold Emperor which was sent off favourite. The other runners riders should be ashamed of their riding skills as none were put in race with any hope whatsoever but they all closed rapidly from the last flight with several finishing full of running. If ever the stewards should be asking a question of these riders this is a case for sure! Punters need to be given a health warning on Northern racing in my opinion as its impossible to fathom

Wouldn't go so far as crooked race but I fully agree that Divine Port wasn't off and it doesn't look great for the integrity of the sport when the jockey on the third is related to the winning trainer and gives a horse a "ride" like that.

the laddie on the telefrom the stable sayed the money for the winner wasnt from the yard, and nearly kept a straight face

The irony of the ride Henry Brooke gave Divine Port is that he can normally be expected to give his mount a professional ride and have the horse in the right place most of the time. He should be ashamed of this ride especially as his relations horse won the race. Stewards should be asking qusetions here imo
