The horse moved right slightly. Did he really need to jump off? Happening all too regular these days either from riding too short or bottling it.

Also happens at Fontwell Wink

The winner started to make the exact same move to swerve towards the exit at exactly the same time.
Report jmdc October 21, 2018 5:46 PM BST
I can remember Lorcan Murtagh doing the same.

Why the fcuk is the wittiest retort/insult on here”pocket talk”.
Any body who had that swerver backed has every fcuking right to go mental-it’s shouldn’t be tolerated as just one of those things when as the earlier poster points out it happens at a similiar juncture at fonteell.
ITS NOT FCUKING GOOD ENOUGH!!!

Agree with the original post. It looked very soft. Jock looks to have more momentum than the horse.

Excuses being made but I don't remember too many instances of the jock coming off close to home with the race 'won'. People talking as if it happens every week.

Armchair jockeys. They're the best .
Report differentdrum October 21, 2018 11:19 PM BST
Choice is yours - armchair jocks or ex-jocks in the media who never criticise anyone? Given that choice I would agree that armchair jocks are indeed the best.
Report davethehat October 22, 2018 11:05 AM BST
Agree with mjk and diff that was a diabolical piece of riding. The horse did move to its right but in no way was it a sudden jerk or massive swerve. He either bottled it or he's FERKING bent. On this occasion I think he was just a bit too gay lmao. Defo agree with diff it's about time the media stopped sitting on the fence and grew a pair of FERKING balls. Tell it as it is u bunch of ****. If pogba missed a pen shearer would say what he thinks so why are racing pundits so reserved? They must be under orders to keep stum!!!!!!

That is a correct comparison in terms of pundits - not sure jock had much chance to stay on, but it's at least worthy of considering in the analysis, but they will very rarely criticize any jockey, ever.

I also wish the old 'armchair jocks' comments would stop being used as an excuse - if a builder made you a house that fell down would that be ok, just because you were not a builder, so couldn't comment?
Report hulk23 October 22, 2018 11:20 AM BST
very expensive for shafterflaps sitting in his box at sedgy Scared those amounts matched on the winner, which had absolutely zero chance of winning (even if the winner UR the second wins), at 1000 are consistent with how much he looks to steal on a race by race basis ...
Report davethehat October 22, 2018 12:28 PM BST
Thanx stu but it is annoying that racing pundits seem to have some kind of hold over them regarding ctricism of jocks,it's a big flaw in my view. How is a jockey supposed to improve if experts and legendary ex-jocks can't give them sh.t when they ferk it up. I've made the same comparison about the builder before although I used a wall lmao. I get what your saying about armchair jocks,at the end of the day we aren't jockeys but we've been watching the game for decades and are entitled to an opinion. The snowflakes(think some are actually older guys lmao) are destroying the world and on here just protecting jockeys for the sake of it ffs. It is a mans right to give sh.t where it's deserved IMHO.
Report differentdrum October 22, 2018 12:28 PM BST
All you can compare it with is other instances where horses have veered far more sharply than that and jocks have retained the partnership. Perhaps they just have better balance than Colliver.

As regards 'armchair jockeys' and 'pocket talking' they are the staple diet of excuse merchants. I always think if you have backed a horse you watch it far more closely than someone who hasn't.
Report davethehat October 22, 2018 12:32 PM BST
Agreed diff I think coliver is a one horse jock. I think it's fair that guys give more sh.t when they have money down. Don't understand the **** who have a go at the pocket talkers but having said that I will slag slag slag any jock who ferks up regardless of whether they got my cash on or not. That is my right using freedom of speech so as far as I'm concerned all the guys who suck jockey c@@k can go forth and multiply. Having said that I wouldn't want a world full of their offspring lmfao.
Report hulk23 October 22, 2018 1:50 PM BST
you can't give them sh.t, because they'll refuse to speak to you.

if they refuse to speak to you, ATR will use someone who they will speak to and you're off down to the jolly old jobcentre ...

Quinlan should know the rules, cos everybody else does.  End of.

knows them now (nap)
Report differentdrum October 22, 2018 2:36 PM BST
I lost track of the times they suggested on ATR that we should feel sorry him. He just made up his own set of rules. Regardless of ability there is something wrong if the jock doesn't know the rules. If he doesn't he shouldn't be on a racecourse. I think he got off quite lightly. It wasn't controversial as they kept suggesting as the ban was inevitable.

I did find it quite amusing that the horse was casting his head from side to side as if to say don't do it!

Was definitely a soft unseat, even Geraghty managed to sit tight on this one and he's a useless tw.onk
