An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding the start of this race when the right-hand
gate of stall 2, which contained MONT KIARA (FR), placed eighth, had appeared not to open. The Starters
and Harry Bentley, the rider, were interviewed and shown recordings of the Start. It was noted that MONT
KIARA (FR) had appeared to put his nose through the bars of the right-hand gate as the start was affected
therefore stopping it from opening properly.
In that case. Harry Bentley should have shouted NO to the starter. Unless the horse put his nose in there right before the gate opened. I'll have to take a look at the reply. Either jokey error or real bad luck.
