Before finding fame as a racehorse trainer Aiden O' Brien enjoyed chart success. Although significantly older now he feels he needs the sunglasses to aid a form of disguise.

George Formby was a stable lad -- not sure if he rode in any races -- and also the singer most often banned by the BBC.

George Formby did indeed ride in apprentice races both here and in Ireland. There is a good summary of his racing career here:
https://eclipsemagazine.co.uk/george-formby-film-star-musician-and-jockey/

Here is a video of a later ride in what was presumably a charity race.

What pop group was George Formby in? Wink

Sting had top class staying hurdler Sandalay and Eric Clapton had a couple of decent sprinters with Toby Balding, Via Delta was one.
Roger Waters has had many good horses over the years, Young Hal by Young Generation was a good sprinter with Peter Walwyn 30 years ago.

TONY CALVIN can now be seen tipping up 100/1 shots every Friday night on RUK but back in the 80's he cut a very energetic figure fronting a popular band on shows like Top Of The Pops.

Pay particular attention to the nutjob on the left who is either suffering some kind of epileptic seizure or performing an Houdini type of escapology act.

Not always right!

The Style Council were an English band formed in 1983 by Adam Kirby, the former singer, songwriter, and guitarist with the punk rock/new wave/mod revival band The Jam, and keyboardist Mick Talbot, previously a member of Dexys Midnight Runners, The Bureau and The Merton Parkas.

Davy Jones definitely rode in Amateur races in England for B McMahon and i think Leavy, on his own horses, including Gilded Chief who was a very good stayer.
By:
