I got 2% about 6 weeks ago but only till the end of Oct. I am ruled out of the Cash Race but nothing else that I participate in.
|
|
By:
Will the 2% include "multiple exchange bets" ?
|
|
By:
I think so carrot but I don't do those so not entirely sure.
|

Able to chose 8% 5% or 2% commission
that's very kind of them |

The higher rates are obviously aimed at PC payers who I think getat least some relief from that. Of non-PC payers such as myself a lot don't seem to have been offered it. I lay primarily in the US markets so to an extent I help seed those as there is little liquidity which MAY be why I got the offer. Don't really know.

By:
I think that could be the reason salmon. Never received any offers myself

apparently other firms go 2% all the time

Having signed up for this expensive project, is there any way of getting proper rates again without going elsewhere?

Exactly the same deal for me last October.Worth a good few quid though.

2% ends for me at the end of this month. They have actually had more comm. of me at 2% than at my variable rate (usually around 3.8%) as I have moved a lot of T/O back from other exchanges. I wonder
if they will re offer the 2% to certain customers on that basis ? |

Last year they phoned up and I accepted their offer of a Premium Charge weekly allowance. Each week if I didn't win the allowance, what I won was PC free. When I won more than the allowance I only paid PC on the difference between the winnings and PC allowance. It saved me money in theory but it's a retrospective tax, so they take it back anyway.

By:
my 2% is over feb 1 a very nice concession, thou its dwindled my points away to 4000 odd, Im gonna be back on 4.9% whats gonna make my game near impossible
any chance of betfair extending the 2% |
|
By:
rollo , wasn't that a trial that they stopped because the people who had an allowance weren't creating more liquidity or betting more ?
|
|
By:
I'm on 2% until the end of this month. It's been a big benefit and hoping they'll extend the offer
|
|
By:
Pablo,
I suppose so. At first I thought this might be good and thought about betting more but then realisation dawned. They would take it back later and it would get me to the next PC threshold quicker. I almost packed in when they stopped the allowance. |
|
By:
thanks rollo
i guess it's good that they have tried a few things with the PC in recent years , the rugby markets were PC free from what i remember (for a while), the allowance they gave you , fixed rate commissions . imo , until PC only accounts for 1%-2% of there profit they won't remove it or amend it to more fairer rates |

Smarkets are 2% are they not?

I had 'a' PC deal but it was different to rollo's
It lasted 3 months and when it was over they asked for my feedback. I told them firstly, you arnt going to see a material difference when creating 'offers', since the 'most successful' users who pay PC arnt going to change what works at a whim of BF wanting more liquidity. If they want more liquidity then they shouldnt have spent the last 10 years killing asperation. The very fact these things run out doesnt instill enough confidence, since after all the PC doesnt 'run out' its constant and always applying downward pressure. I also said that their high bar doesnt just alienate winners (who take out more than they put in, but take risk, which betfair is scared of doing) and encourage them to look at leaving, it also opens up a scenario where users cheat the PC by paying a smaller fee to other people who facilitate their account. By doing away with faffing time limited offers and simply lowering the PC rate is the only way to increase liquidity in the long run, as the use of others accounts become less cost effective for the amount of trouble it takes to avoid it. Still waiting for any kind of positive result....well it is only a decade they've been thinking about changing the PC I suppose. ![]() |

Actually mine might have been the same as rollo's, but its not correct to say you dont feel the advantage of the allowance.
Mine was, for each weeks PC, whatever the due amount the first 500 bill was not taken So if I had a 1000 PC due, they only took 500, but on the portal they still calculated as though they had taken 1000, do it has no detrimental lifetime effect. |
|
By:
dustybin,
Sorry, you're right mine worked the same way. The allowance was against the actual PC payment not winnings. |
|
By:
Id just like to have placed some bets where any commission needed to be paid :)
|
|
By:
a message today saying the 2% is to be extended on a month to month basis,
thank you betfair |
|
By:
Fashion Fever,
Can you ask Betfair to charge you 3% and knock the other 1% off my charges? Cheers. |

jmdc,
The tap tap account raiders were in mine again Wed. Each week I stand on the street corner to ask people to sign a book of condolence for my loss. I don't think they understand though, they just laugh and walk past saying it's not a big issue. |
|

I just got offered this, I should sign up to the 2% shouldn't I, seems a no brainer or am I missing something?
