Enable didn't have much to beat last year, albeit she did it easily.

It looks very much the same story this year even though she pitches up after no more than two-horse stroll at Kempton.

This year the staying Classic generation has looked dire. Sea Of Class would not be anything like 7/2 in a decent year.  At the moment she remains style over substance. Coronet is the best she has beaten and she is a Group 2 filly at best.

Waldgeist didn't win a race last year. Has he really improved that much this year?

Then you have slow stayers like Crystal Ocean and Kew Gardens who don't look good enough.

Cracksman has been disappointing. The Champion Stakes looks a distant memory.

Then what else is there? Study Of Man needs to find a miracle for the extra two furlongs.

It looks like the cards couldn't have landed better for Enable to go back to back.

Back to back Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe’s ?

Opportunities like that happen once in a jockeys life time.

Frankie will be covering every angle and leaving no stone unturned to ensure that goes on his CV.

He’s even had a word with Lester Piggott via one of those sign language chappies. Laugh

That the french have so few serious contenders is the strangest thing. Can they not compete with our carrots?

Waldgeist was impressive last time i thought, especially as Fabre would have saved plenty for the big one. He might be improving so I wouldn't demean him on last year's form myself.

You put up good arguments, Differentdrum, always a good read.
