Wonderful horse RIP

Great day when he won the King George. Went into the race in the form of his life but the "experts" said he wouldn't stay. Front run (as was his racing style) the whole race, then headed and looked like he might drop out but rallied as brave as a lion. "Who needs Best Mate?" What a great horse "Eddie" was.

This horse is a glaring omission from Robin Oakley's Britain & Ireland's Top 100 Racehorses of all time IMO

Great horse perfect attitude for a chaser and perfect ride for McCoy,cheers for the link duffy.

that race still sends shivers down the spine...what a great jumper he was

tough as nails and never knew when he was beat

he was a proper chaser - RIP you beauty

Legend of a horse. RIP.

RIP ,one of the Greats

A brave and great horse. Thanks for the memories.

RIP

sad to hear this but sounds like a long & hopefully happy retirement

his QMCC win is 1 of the best races of all time imo, a super tough horse and a fantastic jumper of a fence at speed, what top class jumping is all about

Very small tribute to the great horse in the RP today, like they could hardly be bothered.

Remember being astounded at the way he pinged the Chelters fences first time I went there. My bet lost but boy did EB performance live long in the memory.

I wouldn't be surprised if half of them that they've got working there now aren't even old enough to remember edredon bleu
