Straight out of the Frank Spencer book that ride , must've switched 5 times

Sadly some on here think he is

The winner looked "dead" 2f out, how did it manage to win in the end? He touched 900 here, luckily no taker for layers.

Kianane? He aint even better than george duffield.

If he wins the big race later of course the usual few will come out smugly

They always do MJK....

Horse travelled beautifully and got a lovely pull through and was moved well by Moore to make his challenge but then hit a flat spot and gap closed making jockey look like a prat when he then had to go all around the houses to make the run so new momentum had to be built up by which time it was too late.
Jockey should be aware of horse's run style by now.

probably should have been 2nd but anyone who thinks that should have won should give up the game.

Great Comment ArseParagus

Switches 5 times gets beat a length.

Moore is not a world class jock, and neither is he the best here; Greville Starkey was a better jock than Moore especially in big races.

One horse finds loads for pressure, the other is to a large extent a bridle horse. It's pretty simple for those of us who make money.

^ FAV backer ^

not his finest hour

Yes, a backed 14/1 shot against an unconsidered 40/1 shot and never a prayer of beating it.

cant take any moore

Made a mug out of frankie

Well he rode an absolute blinder there

Was on Old Persian mainly but did have a saver on Kew Gardens

I backed kew gardens and Southern France, He was on the 2nd best horse in the race, I thought Frankies was way too keen and is the best horse in the race.

agree

Kew Gardens won comfortably - got there too soon if anything,

Was too much too soon for the Filly and she should have run in the Vermeille then the Arc.

well that would have been logical but frankie calling the shots re the leger imo as he will obviously ride enable in the arc & LTD has had a hard race today so likely won't run in the arc now

She’d be long odds on for the Fillies and Mares race on Champions Day and it is a Grouo 1.

That must have been painful to watch for the Ryan knockers.

The Fillies and Mares on Champions Day will surely be the target for Lah Ti Dar - I reckon Gosden called the shots once Enable proved her well being last w/e.

not exactly the king of ponty today is he :/

he needs a few more birthdays

found it all  pulverisingly boring today - can't even get out to play few holes of golf
chuffing rain -

Should have a rich baritone instead of a squeaky voice come 4.55

Next one will be backed off boards as he can't keep getting these "good things" beaten, surely?

He’s been pathetic today that’s for sure....

Sorry, I meant Baritone not next one.

Baritone will surely make all and win unchallenged

R L Moore Turf Jockey Stats: Pontefract[nl][/nl]11 wins, 46 runs, 23.9% strike rate, 0.71 A/E, -44.8% loss, 15.5 Exp, 2.0 Archie [nl][/nl]4:55P Baritone(IRE)

Think u might get better odds  just before off on Baritone cause of Gosden horse

no money involved, riding keeps him fit ,for the weekend big cheques

Don't ya just love these pathetic threads.
345 of them at the last count .

There was a race earlier (ponty) where Moore didn't even move a muscle the whole race

Dunno if the horse was bleeding or not but if not that was horrible even for him

He was bleeding alright, bleeding awful

Off to a flyer again today

This is great viewing watching Moore at his best

Another masterclass in mediocrity. Loads of fancied rides, most finishing just outside the places. Time and time again a promising book of rides and delivers next to nothing. Laughing at punters and owners who clearly haven't got a clue otherwise they wouldn't keep putting him up. If he can't win looks weaker than a child in a pony club.

The only jockey in history who gets criticised for his rides when no jockey on earth would have won on any of them. The only masterclass i can see is that of ignorance on here.

I doff my cap you must be the richest punter on here if you can spot how often the market 'gets it wrong' with a Moore ride. You are virtually saying that he has never lost on a horse that he should have won on?

He doesn't try his hardest though, asparagus?

Not in low grade races anyway, his effort is appalling in them imo

If I was a trainer I'd be booking a claimer in these low grade handicaps rather than a Spencer/Moore

Nowt new here.

Differentdrum, I was referring to his rides over the last couple of days when yet again he's been slagged off for no particular reason other than he's Ryan Moore. At Ponte he rode at least 3 horses which clearly didn't handle the change in ground, were more or less tailed off and he got heavily criticised on here  for it. Pathetic imo.
Sontaran, yes in low grade races he's probably not the hardest on them once they can't win but the same could be said for most top jockeys in history, Piggott, dettori, Eddery, etc etc. It's the nature of the beast.

Ryan Moore rides a supposedly poor race and all hell breaks loose.

As Asparagus points out racing history is full of jockey rides that maybe weren't their best, Archer, Richards, Piggott, Edddery et all, but it's no different to any other sport.

Has Lewis Hamilton ever made a mistake ? Tiger missed a 4ft putt ? Pele missed penalties ? Federer lost a match he should have won ? Blah x 3.

I'm not defending the ride as i didn't see it, nor am i stating he's my favourite Jockey, i actually think Frankie is the better tactician and to be honest i hope Donnacha (who i like) is on Ten Sovereigns next Saturday, but RM still has to be in the top 6 GB/Irish jockeys of all time and will still be riding for Coolmore/AOB beyond 2019.

Riding much less than in previous years but still on a 17% strike rate.

Magnier, Tabor and Smith must read these posts and think how could we have f**ked up so easily when we could have chosen Buick, Doyle, SDS, Fanning or Morris.

Morris ?
Now you are having a laugh.

Mike,

It wasn't a recommendation and my comment was obviously sarcastic

Just checking on your sanity Andrew.
Hope all is well in Stockholm today .

Andrew I couldnt see him in the top six GB/I jockeys of all time.

Mike,

Linköping (200 kms west)

ArkleArkle,

Perhaps i was a little OTT in saying top 6 GB/Irish, i put it down to age, so can i change to top 6 in GB ?

Andrew probably no but dont ask me to name them! Id reckon there were many as good as him for sure

Arklearkle,

That was my last offer, age or no age

I guess going back in history you can go back to Fred Archer, but it was a different game then. My list of those i know of would be (in order)

Piggott
Richards
Eddery
Carson
Dettori
Moore

Lester miles ahead of the rest, I recall that idiot Mike Dillon once saying Moore a better jockey, fook me he needs urgent medical attention, Moore is lucky that there is hardly any competition , a very average rider

Even Crowley would have bothered to have ridden out properly for 3rd there.....total contempt for punters.

agreed granit. same on irish rover 2 weeks ago. 4th to 5th in last few strides. racing post comment for that actually says "eased late" wtf??

wac

hes obviously not useless but he is a c@nt

He certainly is a c@nt. Rember The Irish Rover as well a couple weeks ago....eased down AFTER he hit the front about 2 furlongs too soon as well!

Deffo a c@#t ,

Moore...misery.

not a punters pal

Full house for Moore...of consecutive losers. A fairly normal day at the office, I guess.

And most of his short priced runners tailed off...
The ‘finish’ he rode on Equalateral was a disgrace and showed his usual disdain of the betting public...

Another string of fancied rides at Kempton. Three or four winners?

Should get at least 3 anyhow

Andrew only saw your post now. If you include Eddery you must also include Fallon Scobie and Cauthen. I reckon those wouuld push Ryan down the list a good bit. Its very difficult to compare from other eras but you had other people like Lewis Starkey and Doug Smith. Then you had a few such as Kinnane Murtagh and Ward who rode almost solely in Ireland. I reckon Joseph was possibly a better jockey than Moore and certainly made far fewer mistakes than him. Tbf Ryan has one very good attribute and that is he says very little and thats important for owners and trainers.

gone.at.the.game

with rides like that certainly has

starchant 4.3 >>> 15.5

wasn't unplaced was it ??

Outside stall forced his hand there. Done too much early.

He rode it to just beat the leader

Another great start for the worlds best jockey

Could easily have tucked in behind the leader. Woeful ride.

If that had been a Group race he would have won that by three lengths

yeh did too much too soon

This rapid decline shows no signs of easing.....

leader was setting bonkers fractions in order to not get home (massive drift), following it meant he was also going to lose ..

agree mjk. did do too much early but maybe he shd hv thought about it a bit moore

I like his mount in the 2.40. Hopefully he won't do anything daft on him.

Knackering a slow starting 2yo by rousting to the front in the first two furlongs

Tailed off last

he should be claming 7 pounds again after that ride

That's run badly enough to suggest it wasn't winnign whatever for me but still a pretty bad trip.

Oh he did Barton! Unbelievable lol

I created the thread...no faults with War eagle was beat in stalls and isnt a very good horse.

did it bang it's head?

3 placelayer went straight up?

3             £675

Ryan and Jamie got side bet on how many odds on shots they can get beat through the season

and another

out ridden, out strenthed by a girly whirly there

Didn't the girly whirlys beat the men in the Shergar Cup against the likes of Joao Moreira, who is supposed to be one of the best in the world.

Have i missed something? Has the forum crashed? 3 beautiful rides from Ryan in a row and not a mention. One of them produced at the perfect time only to be outbattled followed by 2 perfectly ridden winners. I'm sure you were all queueing up to praise him if it wasn't for technical problems.

Asparagus you know what they say about a stopped clock.

You seemed to be suggesting earlier that Geoff Lewis and Greville Starkey were better than Ryan Moore so I'm pretty sure a stopped clock would be right more times a day than you. Laughable.

moores regressed, distinctly average nowadays ....

...come on Zain Hana !! (best system ever)

Jinxed yourself

Asparagus I did suggest that its difficult to compare and used these as examples from older times. There is no proven cut and dried method to determine jockey rankings so its all very subjective anyway.
