it might be a long ,european governments plans to put 3% government levy tax on google and 3% government levy on facebook ,something to do with Braxit, not sure if  this is connected with the problem.

there is some news about a charge for internet users of a 3% government tax levy on sites that are assisted by either  twitter, facebook,or google ,its to do with brexit, and the word is that its about to kick off,i know very little about it ,but if its true all major sites on the net will need to position themselves before kick off and kick off will be soon.it may not have anything to do with this but routine maintenance usually means anything but the sort when it is displayed on this site.

@brassneck I really can't see what the causal link would be between taxing of internet firms and Betfair crashing?

I didn't see them describe it as a "routine maintenance" anywhere but maybe I was looking in the place?

ok,longbridge ,i not looking for an argument, and i respect your opinion  ,i am only passing on information i heard on the main news last week end,you are more than likely correct and i guess you are more up to speed than myself,it did flash up on my screen on the java script that it was routine maintenance, and i crashed 5 minutes before anyone else posted the crash.if that helps, have a good day,and i respect you for defending BETFAIR much like i defend PADDY POWER.Wink
