hard to criticise them imo having  spread their money around plenty small trainers.

Maguire used to ride for Bailey didn't he :/

Ruthless kid.

You don't move 10yo's that mean a lot to a stable, in my opinion. Especially if you have enough money to find the next The Last Samuri.

I wonder if one day they will replace Maguire for a younger, sharper version too? That would be karma.

if you pay the bills you can move what you like. i dont know the story so cant comment why its being moved but to suggest the Rooneys arent loyal is way off the mark imo

Well it seems straightforward. Sending it to Fry to freshen it up. Still got a horse with Bailey so presumably no falling out. He's wise enough to take it on the chin (in public).

I couldn't have agreed with them for moving all their horses from donalds

and after all its an owner's prerogative to have his/her horses with whoever they like if they can afford it and the trainer agrees

but moving TLS from kim seems brutal imo Sad

10yo who is short of graded class but too high in the hcap

not a lot a trainer can do unless he is gunna improve 7-10lb for a switch
which he aint

well said wonder. Also the sudden move from donalds didnt just effect him it affected staff.

so you expected them to keep them at donalds, when they were getting nothing for the huge investment they made just to make sure his staff were okay ?

it might be harsh moving the horse but like i said imo they have been more than loyal to a large number of trainers

it didn't take donald too long to fill his boxes again & he has done better since going back to basics imo (a much lower level)
no silly bollox like cheltenham previews etc where he was massively out of his depth

I can't see what else they can do with TLS
he is a 10yo long distance chaser that is too high in the hcap & ground dependent as well
what more do they want from kim

the dealer - if you send a lot of horses to a trainer and he takes on more staff to cope with them do you not think you have a bit of responsibility if you move the horses all in one go and the staff lose their jobs?

if your paying the money and getting nothing back does sentiment make financial sense

donald spat his dummy out mate that's why all the horses went in 1 go, I would have done the same with him but much much earlier than rooney did

I bet Maguire is set up for life now. And he's doing it by shafting his two main supporting trainers.

donald brought it all on himself

kim I don't know the ins and outs but it seems harsh looking from the outside

Wonder, what did Donald fall out with Rooneys about exactly?
By:
wondersobright
When: 07 Sep 18 14:36
well if you remember he was banking a million pound plus in training fees every year
not to mention all the money wasted at the sales
yet could barely get them to win races at the northern gaff tracks
By:

When: 07 Sep 18 14:38
when he was challenged over this (justifiably) and told some of the horses were going to be taken away, he spat his dummy out completely and that's why all of them were taken

The Rooneys have done no better since they left McCain

Best season with McCain - prize money £250k. Worst season since leaving McCain - prize money £600k.

They have a lot more horses these days anorak. They are surely investing as much money into the game as Rich Ricci - I'd say even more- but not getting nearly enough grade 1 horses
