Sure must have passed a stalls test but wondering if he's still slightly damaged, mental scar or otherwise

Backed down through all rates. Either foolish or inspired money. Not taking another chance on him myself

Cost me a small fortune in trebles and accas

Little each-way play 8/1 The Tin Man

Clearly the best Horse with some engine in this field but taking around 5/4 on horse that has had stall issue's and pulls like stink the first couple of furlongs is taking the pi$$ a bit.  7/4 even 2/1 would interest me. but at current prices its a watch for me.

I cannot remember Harry Angel having a stall issue prior to Ascot. I think odds against against these lot looks value to me giving his (rating) superiority, track suitability and ground as opposed to The Tin Man and Brando; the fly in the ointment is Gustav Klimt, a high class performer over 7f and 8f.

Shrewdie mate fancies one not mentioned yet, Sir Dancealot. He says improving

the fav could win but I don't think he is as far ahead as timeform suggest............Jason weaver reckons without his stall problems he should be 1\4.......that's just stupid

1/4 would be clearly stupid as it is horse racing, but anything better than 4/5 is value (in my book) given the opposition eg no Caravaggio, Librisa Breeze and Blue Point; the soft going probably put paid to the chances of The Tin Man and Brando. Sir Dancealot could be improving but probably needs further and has never won a Gp 1 either.

impossible123 - Harry Angel was getting a bit over excited in the stalls first time out at York. Woodmanchester I freely admit that you would have knowledge of being mentally damaged but I refuse to believe that you have a mate ( in any way ) or that he, she or it would be shrewd.

I cannot remember Harry Angel having a stall issue prior to Ascot

July 2016 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing EBF Stallions Maiden, Goodwood

With one run under his belt Harry Angel is withdrawn at the start of this valuable maiden after becoming unruly in the stalls.

October 2017 Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes, Ascot

Taken early to post, he failed to get away cleanly when rearing as the gates opened and then pulled strongly through the first part of the race, which seemed to take its toll as he was beaten into fourth

May 2018 Duke of York Stakes, York

Became a little fired up in the stalls but, despite darting left, he was smartly away and was pushed out to win on his return to action.

June 2018 Diamond Jubilee Stakes, Ascot

Agitated when mounted, his mood had not improved by the time he got to the start. He became restless in the stalls, kicked out just before the gates opened and got his left hind leg caught on the running board preventing him from breaking on terms. He finished 11th of 12.

Having read AiS post it would be reckless to take a very short price on HA. James Garfield each way for me.

I posted the below on the ante-post forum ......

Harry Angel is obviously the form horse with 7 lbs minimum in hand, we all know that, it's why he's 5/4.

In fact, if the previous stall issues hadn't occured and he had won you wouldn't be able to get 1/2 tomorrow ...... but is he a good bet at 5/4 ?

He's won on heavy in the past, but is poorly drawn in 3 and although the going is not an issue he was drawn 8 last year.

How will his mental state be approaching the stall ? Of course Clive will have worked on this, but it's a completely different environment on race day.

He could be the best 5/4 bet of the year but of the two returning superstars i think i would rather be on Enable.

I think Sands of Mali @ 20/1 is a viable EW option.

similar problem to some of the good hurdlers/chasers who would occasionally plant themselves at the start, if they get away ok 3 times out of four they are probably worth following

It’s possible Harry will not handle the stalls but even on the balance of form he’s  been ahead and behind some of these so for me he’s beatable and also if he’s on the way down and not up then he could be vulnerable

Sir dancelot looks the ew bet to me only 2 length behind the fav when he was on top and has now improved and looks like he’s not stopping any time soon

Others of note is tasleet capable of going close but for me sir dancelot could travel and finish good luck
Cheers

Ascot is HA's nemesis, and I believe he's not regressing either. HA put in a scintillating performance in this renewal last season, and another one in the Logistic Stakes at York, but Champions Day at Ascot in October - lay the beast in The Champion Sprint.

I could also add to my earlier posts ....

He's only had one run (forget LTO) but last year had 4 prior to this race.

I wouldn't put anyone off of backing him at all, but he's not for me today, too many ?.

I guess you could wait until the stalls open, but you'll be in a queue Wink
