Not sure of the connection Dealer but the last 2 years at this meeting they have had a boatload of drifters followed by a well backed winner in the last. They don't have a runner in the last tomorrow but following the money probably isn't a bad idea.
Report the dealer • September 5, 2018 8:56 PM BST
they have a runner in the last trained in Ireland and just notice they sponsor the race.

Novelty value perhaps, purchased two today to make sure they are represented in each race

probably CL just thought they maybe had a connection to the place.

They haven't a clue what they are doing.
They have more money than sense
Report the dealer • September 5, 2018 9:03 PM BST
the books dont take any chances, fav in all 6 races and 2nd fav with all bar one, where they are doubly engaged
Report Cork Langer • September 5, 2018 9:06 PM BST
Group of rich friends who like visiting obscure tracks where they can party hard, false favs hopefully that will inflate others prices
Report the dealer • September 5, 2018 9:08 PM BST
yip there must be a few over priced ones elsewhere. not getting involved but will watch with interest how it pans out.

A bookies rep will be on ATR tomorrow telling us about how they have seen good money for several Melbourne 10 runners, huge liabilities, blah blah blah. As an aside, last year at this meeting there were some very well backed winners.

It is a kip of a track and anyone betting here needs their head examined. The start can be chaotic and you have horses jumping pools of water.

Looks like Laytown would appear to be Melbourne 10's idea of the Cheltenham Festival ...

- or - Royal Ascot, rather.

Just a bunch of rich ex City Bankers (though you could easily change the 'B' for a letter towards the end of the alphabet) , who dress up like silly public schoolboys and clearly think they own the meeting, and no doubt will all be seen together in some cringeworthy interview during the afternoon.

As someone said earlier, clearly more money than sense. Putting horses with Jamie Osborne should be a good enough guide to that

Both runners withdrawn in this race....hmmm

Won't be long before this mob are sponsoring every race and have half the runners in every race. Laytown used to be enjoyable.
Report hulk23 • September 6, 2018 8:26 PM BST
must be like winning the lottery when the men with the blazers and far too much money call you up and ask to lease your horse for a day ... are you sure you wouldn't like it for a week ??

As I understand it they don't fund it equally. An egotistical mob who know as much about racing as Tanya Stevenson.

A very good mob to claim a horse off.

It's a shocking state of affairs when a bunch of people use a unique beach track to have some fun with racehorses. For those who dislike the track for betting purposes -it's a shame that they are compelled to bet there and that there aren't a host of alternative betting opportunities available for such fastidious and discerning punters......................oh no , hang on.....
Report mouse muldoon • September 6, 2018 11:08 PM BST
The Southwell beach is more favourable for punters, but alas they too have but the one meeting in the summer.
