I've plumped for Play The Ace here in what is effectively a three runner race. I've taken the 13/8 in what looks like a tight affair but I think this beast has the form to go win or at least go very close. I'm surprised Rockportian is a 5/2 shot with the books given it's absence but it is getting 7lbs albeit not the one for me.

Motueka Winning start for yard but well held next time; may prove hard to catch; has had wind op.
Play The Ace Won eight chases and a Worcester novice hurdle in July; go close again.
Rockportian Not seen since April 2017 but enough ability to make presence felt if ready.

** I forgot to mention the pilot factor. Win or lose I'm sure all/most will agree my beast has the best one on board.
Nothing traded at 3.30, 3.35 and 3.40. Now, that is strange?
That has changed now. I've backed it again for smaller stakes as I just think this beast is not a 11/4 shot or higher. (traded at 4s) What am I missing here I wonder?

tbh I'm just glad I went in again which meant I got average odds off approx. 11/5. It didn't pan out for me price wise but what can you do if you fancy one fairly strongly? You can follow the market blind or follow your gut feeling and stick with it.
I've said it before but 50/60% of times I take A price I get it right. (price wise that is, not strike rate) Easily checked I may add but got the price wrong today and still scratching my head about the drift?
Flash Bookie sometimes pops his head in and if he is loOking in, could this have been a 'knock out' Flash? Probably not but still strange as to why it drifted badly.
