Drifted into German Bight. Just been picked up by the Danish coastguard who've confiscated his chocolate pirate coins. No show expected on Tyneside for at least another week.

A late-night boat trip on a picturesque tourist loch ended in a full scale rescue.
Fire fighters, police and a boat rescue team descended on Carlingwark Loch in the early hours when a pedalo pleasure trip went wrong. Scotland Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Joe Shepherd said: “He had been on the loch for three hours plus and eventually called for assistance. What seems to have happened is the pedalo’s rope had got caught up around the pedals.”  |
