race might have been over  9F - but I think Dane O'N
might have run 11 F here - strange from a guy with his experience to ride
in such an uncontrolled / out of position fashion

Dane has the brain of a gnat. Was on a Candy horse which i had an interest in a few years ago  and rode a dreadful race at Sandown getting boxed in on the best horse in the race.A truly awful jockey.

its just that on final bend - he was extreme left - ie 10 feet from outside rail - which is where you don't want to be as you lose 5 lengths
on final bend before straight - then he ends up on inside rail - accept horse drifted to his left inside final fulong
but to go from outside rail to inside rail cost him race - just though it was more in line with a 10lb claimer with no experience.

Going 5 wide the whole way round wolves would probably add an extra 50-60 yards maximum, not 2 furlongs

OK  - but his position on final bend was equiv of 25 wide
which is essentially where he lost it -
