Seems to be the norm now for jockeys doing this just for the sake of it, even though the horse is running straight. Surely they don't think this is advantageous?

Seems to do the opposite when I back them. Looking at that last race Hanagan changed whip hand when there was no need, the horse then went left and he had to put the whip down. Cost him the race imop.
