Gets a lot of stick on here, but anyone who does not find this interesting or informative is probably following the wrong sport.

Lots of views but no comments!    The Colin Nutter goat story is brilliant, and his affection for his place is really nice to see.

feature on him this sunday in the r post should be worth a read.

Ashleigh - this may be linked to that.  Although already on Y OUtube, this was only released very recently by the RP.  This is the first of three filmed parts and the second part is not due out until Thursday 30th August.

Brilliantly entertaining bloke.

Blackbarn:
Tim Fitzgeorge Parker had a similar story in his book Training the Racehorse but about a sheep.. He had a difficult horse. Eventually he thought that a companion might settle it down and introduced it to a sheep.
They seemed to get on well so he put the sheep with it in its stable. In the morning the stable had blood all over the wall and ceiling. The brute had kicked it to death.

a watch on each arm-any reason
Report blackbarn • August 23, 2018 9:54 PM BST
Chav - Funny you should ask that.  I showed my granddaughter this video (She gets to see every important racing video!!). Neither she nor I could guess; she said different times in the world (smart for a 10 year old!!). I said knowingly, that the time of day is very important for a trainer so perhaps he was being safe. On reflection though, WE think that the one (on the right) is a chronometer stop watch.  Thoughts anyone?

Oldgit - there is a similar story in one of the Arkle books - Could it be Flyingbolt that ate one alive, he WAS a loon.

I enjoyed that thanks Blackbarn...

Good article in the Sunday Racing Post where it seems that Sir Mark suggested the blanket to Monty Roberts for one of his horses. Now Monty has the credit for it.

I didn't know he had a tumour removed from his neck a couple of years ago, and has since given up smoking.
Report Oldgit1 • August 27, 2018 7:00 PM BST
The stables will be safer now without his cigars. I was surprised in a Channel 4 feature on him some years ago that he was smoking as the horses walked round his indoor area.

didnt william haggis start with prescott and when he was late one morning prescott broke into his house and smacked him around his head with a saucepan.

Enjoyed the article and the videos - entertaining ....

I have never been a fan of his methods - we all know what they are .....

When you look a the set up he has it is surprising he has so few top class animals.

Possibly a numbers game as I think he only has about 50 horses - is that right?

The old A.T.R. had a very good feature on him a few years ago that they showed periodically, I remember watching it one Christmas Day.

blackbarn post 23 Aug

Oldgit - there is a similar story in one of the Arkle books - Could it be Flyingbolt that ate one alive, he WAS a loon.

Ubedizzy was a savage he knocked down the lad that was leading him back after a race and tried to savage him, he also bit a bit of the finger off on another handler.

Zucchero the one that lester Piggott rode in his younger days was another savage, he often refused to race and became unmanageable when sent to stud. I think they put a donkey in his stable to see if that would calm him down but the poor animal was found savaged to death in the morning.

Workrider - would love to have been there, but did not work out this year.  William is William Butler, Sir Mark's assistant trainer.

I see Blackbarn, a few lads over from Scotland, meeting them tomorrow at Kilbeggan ..
