How difficult would it be to have a couple of outriders on duty at each meeting? It would cost peanuts and we wouldn't have such infuriating delays.

Racing shares with tennis a total disregard for the clock. Most sporting events start at the advertised time and any competitor turning up late for a major athletics event is excluded automatically. Jockeys wandering to the start late without good reason should have their riding fee cancelled and a persistent offender should get a ban. It is not just the BHA and racing that loses it is the other horses in the race as well.

Another racing fan was foaming at the mouth because Perth was clashing with bath tother day. Will they be secondary picketing the Greyhound tracks on strike day, throwing thar toys on the track!? Always thort the off time moaners on here were were pi$$eb off because it interfered with thar bots or summit, but they genuine old school punctuality police. ![]() |
