Just for record don’t mind you posting constructive comments on my threads , I was not aware the horse your put up had had a wind op , I ain’t perfect and don’t claim to be , many hands make light work !
You know ave uses speed ratings as part of sel picking fir a long time now , no they ain’t perfect as horses quicken of slow pace or ease , or not fully extended , and the none jiggers ,  the perfect situation is if we see a hot pick review it’s last few races on video and judge how hard a race the horse has had , ie was it all out etc .
I wd not be too despondent regarding your sel  because both mines and your sel improved miles yest ,
They both predicted speed ratings graded class , even producing better Sec times than the 2 mike bumper over 2 miles and all the other hurdle races , considering this was a Chase , it was an awesome performance !  Your sel has to be a good thing next time with out pen , two very good recruits to chasing ranks , clearly the wind ops have worked tbe oricle on both  , just like the good old days so many times we had the F.C. between us !  Am going to start a new thread soon goofily the morons can keep of and genuine gamblers can just view or make constructive comment !  Nothing mikes ahead today but I wrecked if Superefficient runs to it’s for 2 runs back in the 2.40 Tramore it must have a really good shout Rachel on a bonus ! Around 7s must go close today win and place adviced ,  be lucky

Mart,

As you mentioned speed figures.

I appreciate you're the forums' very own Archimedes and taught Pythagoras everything he knows in a previous life, so on behalf of the lessor astute and mere mortals on here, could you please give us a speed figure for each of the 9 runners in the Prix Morny (2.45 Deauville) later ?

It's an ideal race to mark up over a sprint trip and could silence the doubters.

Many thanks in anticipation Grin

Not sure what you mean when you say Cubo & Trongate ran faster sectionals than the hurdle & bumper races. As far as I can see from the race times in the RP

Cubo: 14.37 avge seconds per furlong
Bumper: 13.90
2m hdle: 14.07 & 13.78
2m 4f hdle: 14.23
3m hdle: 14.24 & 14.31

The 3m chase avge: 14.86

If you mean the times compared to RP standards then you need to find a different way to compare as the 20f chase standard is slower per furlong than the 3m chase 14.53 spf for the 2m 4 chase and 14.36 for the 3m RP standard.

Perth is not unique in this anomaly

Based on those figures it does look a very smart performance!!! But then it would when the RP have 2m 4 chasers "apparently" running slower than the tree milers.

FWIW I have rated the winner around 10-14lb above its handicap mark but I think the handicapper will too.

I have used the adjusted distances based on the days course layout in the above figs.

Mart I didn't have a selection in that race..all I said was it had had a wind op etc..

Btw..it was pulled it injured so who knows what the outcome would have been.

The Stewards held an enquiry following a complaint made on behalf of Donald McCain from Brian Hughes into the delay of the Veterinary assistance given following the injury of his mount CLONDAW KAEMPFER during this race. Brian Hughes, the Clerk of the Course, the BHA Veterinary Officer, the Senior Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon and two other Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons were interviewed. Having heard their evidence, the Stewards ordered a report to be forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
