Horse has other ideas IMO.

By:
he should retire
By:
Definitely. Another poor advert for the 3 year old colts in Britain and Ireland....
By:
didnt look a great pace did it, helped the "french raider"
By:
The horse clearly isn't right. either physically or mentally, possibly both.
By:
They can't go fast when lame TF, Also when asked for a effort they curl up.
Since the Guineas his problems have only got worse, Shame. |
By:
it's a johnston, probably pop up the next day at 11/2 ...
By:
MJ seems to be baffled by the horse’s performances as well. I think he’s surprised the horse hasn’t won at least 3/4 this season on what he’s seeing at home.
By:
Still lame? MJ is vet!
By:
If you take Johnston's comments at face value (continually talking the horse up) then he isn't producing on the track what he is producing at home or the trainer has no idea what he is producing at home.
By:
Totally agree differentdrum.
By:
market (forces) doesnt seem to know about this lameness
By:
I am not entirely sure about your last sentence granit as regards latter months. What IS true is that anyone and everyone at Shadwell was raving about this thing over the winter and early spring. Those that have this and Massaat in the Shadwell Ten to Follow comp have gone their fingers burnt this season
. |

Trust me Blackbarn, It's physical which is causing the problems, the mental aspect comes into it when they've decided they've had enough of racing when it keeps hurting.
The fact that a trainer or whoever rides it daily isn't aware when I can see it sat at home is shockingly inept from a team as large as his unless they just aren't bothered. It'll float at home as it'll be injected in it's joints prior to running, Problem is thats just to get the work into them, Can't run till everything's out of their system, Then the pain flares up again, Then you look clueless pretending you don't know whats wrong to pundits and the betting public. Anyhow I'm off, Had my moan so I'm happier now ![]() |

Frankel's are
SLOW I dunno how without parole managed to bag a g1 over a mile but he will be the last. They are middle distance soft ground plodders. |
By:
Perhaps a bit over the top by me Blackbarn but I think MJ certainly has thought that the horse would run a lot, lot better both in the Irish 2000 and today. The other 2 runs haven’t been so bad at all and certainly creditable. You’re right in what you say though about fingers getting burnt given the confidence from Shadwell during the winter...

trainers tell us these horse never have the gun put to their heads at home so besides the equally disappointing threading ,the stables not exactly overflowing with group race horse,s for mjk to gauge how well its working
By:
Where exactly is his form?
The guineas was poor. Winner been beaten more times than my eggs this morning. Masar won a non stayers egg and spoon Derby. Tip to win is about a stone off G1 standard. Elarqam is crap. Attraction has bred nothing with her bandy legs. MJ cant train. what have i missed? |
By:
Jockey no good.

Jesus that should be at the top!

By:
Fair comment Jonjon, Your summary is pretty much spot on.

By:
"Attraction has bred nothing with her bandy legs". True, but all about to change with Maydanny

Masar won a non stayers egg and spoon Derby.
Group 1, £850,000 to the winner - ''egg and spoon race.'' These are the jokes folks. |
By:
Crippen - you may not agree with him, and I don't either, but I think you have misunderstood his wording. He can speak for himself, but "non-stayers egg and spoon DERBY" is not the same as the common phrase "egg and spoon race". Hth
By:
Oh thanks blackbarn.
So can you or even the silent jonjon himself, clear up where the 'egg and spoon' bit figures in the phrase ''non stayers egg and spoon Derby.'' please? I feel like a racing-terminology illiterate here. |
By:
Aye maybe over egged the sentencing there..was clearly getting way more egg references in than need be.
Just saying it was a substandard Derby..which you are more likely to get than not. Full of non stayers. I want to see good horses and its a shame Elarqam who has been hyped since last winter couldnt put a foot right this year. Id imagine youll see him spin around Jebel Ali until hes 10 |
By:
No problem jonjon.
I got taken to task for overdoing a comment just the same on another thread. |
By:
Hahah i wouldnt rise like a souffle to anything thats said on these boards.
Jesus im egg mad today |
