Runs it in a 1m 1f LISTED race at Gowran.

Be amazed if it was anyone connected to the yard, given the facts as already stated by many regarding distance, odd that anyone with any nous would get involved with it tonight

Was no gamble, it was clipped in, but the last 2 mins before off, it was layed big style in win and place. Moody putaway to lay it for whatever they wanted.

The facts kind of prove it was gambled by somebody domino, halved in price, should have been name your own price on the evidence of the formbook, irrespective of the connections

My point is, it was clipped in for next to no money in my opinion, moody message, maybe even bookies clipping in.
Look at the market in the last 2 minutes before the race, it went from 4.8 out to about 6.6 on the off and 2.1 out to 2.7 in the place. It was been layed for chunks.

The Stewards should be 'having a word' here - and seeking an Official explanation from Mullins for this modus operani - and, then, publishing a Report of their Enquiry.

Of course - All racing officialdom has no concept of proper Public Relations.

Aidan O'Brien. likewise, just does as he wishes, aswell.

Chased out again by those who backed it earlier at double figures and were more than happy to lay for a profit that few could have envisaged

@Onlooker

Very simple question, what has Mullins done wrong. The horse has run on merits, been outpaced and ran on past a couple of beaten horses. You couldn't say it was a non trier, just not able to go the pace over 6f shorter than it needs.

Why does anyone need to have a word. Nothing hidden from any punter, and anyone of sound mind would have been sure it couldn't be competitive over this trip. Anyone who backed it, only have one person to blame and that's themselves.

As for the MO it's pretty clear.

It's being aimed at the Cesareswitch and he's looking to make sure it's current handicap mark isn't affected, so he is running it over inadequate trips (but trying nonetheless) to keep the horse on the go and fit, and to ensure it's mark isn't higher come Newmarket.

No different to what most jumps trainers do all season with horses they are aiming at Cheltenham handicaps !

running it over inadequate trips on his own gallops would keep it on the go and fit and probably wouldn't mess up its handicap mark too much ...

@Hulk23

That's how you make horses go over the top trust me. It suits all horses to race at least every 30-50 days to maintain fitness and to stop them going over the top, when in full work. Galloping it hard at home, has an effect on horses, as can make them keen at home and get them buzzy and over the top. Trainers who train horses hard at home, normally have horses that go over the top very quickly.

domino14 - We are all well aware that, "he has done nothing wrong." .... other than -

It sends out a supercilious 'sod you lot the public' - as we can do whatever we want - simply to suit ourselves.

The 'we' encompassing compatriot O'Brien, also.

Of course none of us were daft enough to back it - so we don't have ourselves to blame.

That is just you, also, being supercilious - along with you unnecessary, and unwanted, exclamation marks at the end of your epistle.

Onlooker normally a rock with sense. So the biggest crime committed by a trainer today is running a horse over a shorter than ideal distance. Perhaps you have had a bad day
