It sets a decent standard and that win at Newbury may have given him some confidence and yard in OK form. It's opposition HAVE to improve to beat him, and he handles cut in the ground, something the second and 3rd fav have not shown yet. Unlike the Haggas filly in the first at Chelmsford, who didn't have the best figures in the book, wasn't a proven stayer, this horse actually has the best figures in the book, has run a good 2nd to a progressive horse on easy ground and won going away over a galloping 7f last time.
For me Hot Team should be odds on in this, Leroy Leroy has run to 78 so far and only ran on fast ground, the Balding horse 63 again on fast ground.
Hot Team is officially rated 87, yet ran to 90 on good to soft on it's penultimate start, and won running to 88 in the cheek pieces last time. With the best form by 12lb, and 8lb clear with his penalty taken into account, proven over trip and ground, it's very hard to see him getting beat and the Hannon horse and Balding horse, have to firstly prove they handle ground and secondly improve to beat this horse.
8lb clear in with no question marks, the 6/4 on offer looks very good value to me.
Hot Team is far from a lay and actually a decent win bet for me, I've had a bet at 2.46 in the win, and 5 x that stake in the 2 horses to place market at 1.5, to make sure I draw a profit on the race in case something does beat him, but on form I just can't see that happening.

Horse lugging in, but he should have moved the horse up a lot earlier before those on the outside of him, made his chances of a clearer run unlikely.
Well done layers.Ben Curtis poor for my liking there.Horse lugging in, but he should have moved the horse up a lot earlier before those on the outside of him, made his chances of a clearer run unlikely.
For once agree with domino14 that was a ferkin crap ride Curtis. I found that hard to say as he is a jockey I like is usually strong in a finish. Let the horse block him in on the outside then when he got lucky with the gap took a while to ask his mount. When he ask it hit it with stick in right hand lugged in then got it running again when he started going forward why the ferk did he change whip hand back from left to right when it had just lugged left furlong earlier. That was shocking ride and just seemed a little dodgy.
