I think it is bloody good. The Francome/McCririck/McGrath/Leslie Graham era palled, but there was little wrong with those characters imo, they were just kept in house much too long. The format has been freshened up and the personnel are much, much better. This is very good coverage.

Harvey is good on the circuit, and almost spectacularly ugly. Harvey/Weaver a top-class double act. I thought the clip from the beach yesterday was really good telly. I guess your appreciation/tolerance depends on how much you need them to shape your bets: in my case 0%.

Agree Ed Chamberlain looks a bit awkward in this company..impossible..but the team needs to blend with an audience who could just as easily be watching a cooking programme.

Remember Luke Harvey interviewing a winning jockey at Wincanton a couple of years ago - the reins had broken or the saddle slipped or something technical, but the mare had won anyway and Luke asked the jockey how he managed it:

I don't get the hostility. If I have the chance, I'll watch a football game with the sound off; and usually prefer to see a race without commentary - but I have nothing riding on the 1/2 hr between races and prefer to be entertained. Don't you?
