Certainly churn out the winners. At what cost to their quality and the long term good of the horses? Making your reputation through summer jumping may not be the best way to establish the yard as one for potential top class horses.

Gets them spot on asap then only the strong survive, Had one go there from a yard I was with & the owner invited me along when it had it's first start for them, Spoke to Dan about the horse and advised him about it's best trip & conditions it required, I watched the horse have 2 seasons at the wrong trip on the wrong ground, It went up for sale so I went along as know the horse had serious potential just needed to be minded correctly, It was lame on 2 legs and looked a shell of it's former self...Brought a tear to my eye tbh, It went to another yard where it ran twice before breaking down His winners at any cost attitude doesn't sit well with me.

This is how I see the success of the Skelton stable
1) Horses are sent to them that have previously been with mediocre trainers who couldn't train ivy up trellis. 2) These horses are mostly well handicapped because of No.1 3) Any niggles or problems these horse have are ironed out and they become healthy, happy horses. 4) The horses are trained so that when they reach the racecourse they are actually fit enough to win races. 5) The horses are placed in the right races, ones that they can win. 6) Both brothers are hungry for success and won't rest on their laurels.
That just about covers it for me.

All of what you say WP does make sense (if it didnt happen with every single horse they get). Brailsford and his "marginal gains" also kinda made sense until the truth came out ;)
