Can someone help me please relating to my visa card. i am 15 years gambling with betfair,i have one account, one user name, one address, one bank, one forum name, and so on . my visa card expires soon and my bank issued me with a replacment card. Betfair are refusing to register my card and insisting that they get a copy of my bank statement. this request is breaching the data protection law in my opinion,as nobody has the right to view my bank account only the police, in other words when my card expires i will not be able to bet with betfair unless i show them a copy of my bank statement. i have rang them 3 times and they have refused to register my card,i have done nothing wrong and never had this problem when my card expired before. this is wrong what betfair are doing and i dont know where to turn for help ,its either show us your bank account or we stop you gambling with us. and i am very annoyed about betfairs invasion of privacy attitude.betfair say its the same rule for everybody. please post your opinion about this subject because i am at my wits end and think it is very very unfair.thanks in advance.
i lodge with a paddy office from time to time, but i think it is wrong that betfair insist to view my private bank account, and its my guess that i am not alone in this opinion.as i say i am 15 years with betfair and they have put a gun to my head in no uncertain manner its a case of "show us your bank account or you are out" now how many customers will take this treatment when their card expires? and if betfair are telling me the truth every single customer is going to travel the same road as myself on their expiry date on their card.

How do I change or unregister my card? In 'My Account' --> 'My Betfair Account' --> 'Payments' --> 'Card Details' --> 'Edit' you can view and amend your card details. You can amend certain parts of your card details while some information cannot be changed:
Changeable card details:
Expiry date Start date (where applicable) Card billing address Unchangeable card details:
Card Nickname Cardholder’s name Card Number Card Type If you receive a new card from your bank with the same long card number as the previous one, then you simply can change the expiry date (and start date).
If the long card number has changed from the previous card, you will need to register the card as a new card.
In 'My Account' --> 'My Betfair Account' --> 'Payments' --> 'Card Details' --> 'Remove' you can unregister your old card. Depending on the net deposits of your card details, the length of time the card has been registered, or if you have not completed the KYC verification process you may be required to supply some documentation in order to unregister your old card. Please see “Why can I not remove my (expired) card?" for further information.
If you are unable to delete the card from your account, please contact us so we can advise you further.

all banks are changing the numbers on all bank cards over 160 countries ,the bank has refused to allow me to keep my old number for some EU New rule.but its looks like betfair are not up to speed about this and believe it or not their licence is registered in malta whick surprises me as it is stuck in the middle of the EU.

It has already happened,i asked the bank if i could keep my old numbers and they said it was impossible to do so because in order to enhance security the banks must not allow the same numbers to be uses ,thats their policy ,while betfair say you can not register your new card because the numbers have changed. so i told betfair i would get a letter from the bank stating it was the same account with new numbers but they said thats no good we need to view your bank statements.so i can not win ,its a problem between the banks and betfair and time is running out.meanwhile betfair continue to break the data protection law by demanding these statements while the banks advise against giving bank statements .its a catch 22 situation.

btw just get a bank statement and delete your balance and all transactions except betfair. If they object to that just say you will complain to Ireland's data commissioner.
