I couldnt give a rubber duck
Imo there are two classes of doping There is the stuff that Lance was doing which ruined the sport. Then there is the stuff that sky are getting away with which is playing WADA rules close to the edge. If WADA are too woolly to outright ban asthma drugs then what the fluck do they expect? Funny how serena williams gets a free pass for her theraputic use exemption for asthma but the cyclists are treated like p@edos |

I can almost guarantee 99% of professional cyclists take some form of medicinal medication if not something more potent...they have done since the inception of the Tour De France
Of course it is dishonest because so many appear to have medical notes for asthmatic problems which defies mathematical logic for the population as a whole I wish the sport could be drug free but it will never happen...I suppose the only rationalisation is if they are all (almost all) on something then there is no real advantage to be gained (its a bit spurious to say that but the problem has never been fully addressed by the sport) An extract from Wiki which I'm sure most looking at this will already know anyway - Drug-taking in cycling predates the Tour de France. "It existed, it has always existed", said the French reporter and author, Pierre Chany, who followed 49 Tours before his death in 1996.[4] The exhaustion of six-day races on the track was countered by the riders' soigneurs (the French word for "carer"), helpers akin to seconds in boxing. Among the treatments they supplied was nitroglycerine, a drug used to stimulate the heart after cardiac attacks and which was credited with improving riders' breathing.[5] Riders suffered hallucinations from the exhaustion and perhaps the drugs. The American champion Major Taylor refused to continue the New York race, saying: "I cannot go on with safety, for there is a man chasing me around the ring with a knife in his hand."[6] |
