It seems the odds-on Fav Big Blue Marble has been withdrawn as a runner a few hours later, even though it ran.

I backed another horse, which came 7th.
It's been settled - fair enough.
But some backers may have got badly stung.

Big Blue Marble, favourite for Race 1 at the Vaal on Thursday, was declared a non-runner after the stipendiary stewards decided that the horse was not ready to race when the gates opened at the 1200m mark on the straight track.

BiPot bets that included the Ashley Fortune-trained juvenile gelding – No 2 on the card – reverted to tote favourite No 1, Belton Road, which ran unplaced – so many thousands of tickets were blown out.
Television replays of the start showed that Big Blue Marble had his head turned sideways over the division with the next starting stall when the start button was pressed. Jockey Aldo Domeyer eventually got the horse to jump away but he had lost several lengths to the other runners and effectively had no chance.
The Maiden Juvenile Plate was won by Gimme A Wave, who paid R6.60 a Win. Second was 9 Sea Dance and third 7 Now And Forever.
