A horse refuses to enter the stalls because it hasn't been trained properly so it is the stall handlers fault. Can't see the logic myself! The reason they look so good in Australia and the US is the horses are trained constantly through the stalls and have no fear of them. Trainers in the UK are a disgrace in not working their horses with starting stalls so they have no fear. The trainer of any horse that refuses to go in the stalls should pay a fine or be ordered to meet the costs of taking the horse to the race. I fancy things would change rapidly if fines were instigated.

tbh cantthink... you may well be right but the overall problem of us having to watch nearly ten minutes of loading SO often needs addressing in my opinion. Whosever fault it is.

I agree TF but noone wants to take trainers on. I spoke with a trainer about this and he said he was happy for his horse to take a long time to load as horses in the stalls might go to sleep and break badly or get worked up. I would have s good bet that US and Ozzie stall handlers would not look so good if they had to load UK horses.

Horses act up if they smell alcohol ,and a lot have handlers like a pint or two before racing, but it is always blamed on the poor horse if he gets upset and most people don't realise what is upsetting the horses and a lot of the time its the smell of beer. FACT
