signed up 1 month free trial, tried to cancel over weekend not open, cant cancel by email or online, you have to ring up which i did this morning only to be told im locked into min 12 month contract, payment has been authorised, cleared money out of bank account last night so no payment could be taken, im told by bank they can reinstate DD at any point, cancelled DD , i thought that 1 month free trial is one month like 31 days, so 16th june would end today at 1159pm, so im told by racing uk agent payment can be taken before free trial ends, really naughty in my book

I correctly signed up with RUK for one of these free trials and eventually received a letter from a debt collection agency, even though I owed them nothing. To sort it out, I wrote an extensive email of complaint to RUK Customer Services and they apologised and gave me another month free. They really are a filthy outfit and you're wasting your time phoning the horrible Scots women they employ!

I like many others no doubt get regular e-mails from RUK making the same or similar offers but a mate had an exact scenario as lord skywaker, absolutely appalling sharp practice.

citizens advise not help at all, rung ruk again scots woman kept repeating terms & condiions, 30 day run out 1159 pm 15th june then you get charged, you can only cancel by phone 9-5 mon-fri didnt notice this until saturday, it does say on ruk website that they make take payment before free trial ends surely this isnt right, citizens advise guy has sent a report to trading standards, dont want to be locked into a £25 month contract for 12 months, a manager is gonna ring me back within 48 hours so hopefully can cancel

been told by numpty on ruk customer services that if i cancel direct debit and wont pay it will be sent to debt collection agency for the whole £300 plus costs, seems a bit excessive i told woman on phone that i couldnt cancel within the 30 days becauase you were not open, her reply, well you shouldve rung us mon-fri 9-5, she said you must have a tea break at work to phone us and cancel, only saw the mon-fri thing on saturday within free trial period but couldnt cancel as there is no way of contacting them, really rancid company that is taking british racing down the plughole

This isnt owt to do with racing, its the template used for business in general.
Only takes one company to think up a new way of extracting as much as profit and then it becomes the 'norm' and all 'have' to opporate in such a fashion we are told in order to be competitive. The public sector not exactly a shining light either however. You buy a tv license on the 29th of the month and they consider you to have taken it 28 days earlier, paying 12 months, receiving 11. |

rung them again, where is my contract as website shows old free trial, numpty says contract sent in post on 16th june, never received anything, they really are the pits as far as british companys go, numpty says free trial contract is the same contract as the 12 month one, need a lawyer

I'm no fan of racing uk but on this occasion you screwed up with your dates and you now want to blame them for your failings, the t&c of the offer are crystal clear, unless you had good reason as to why you didn't cancel in good time this if firmly your own fault.

i did check on saturday just gone then the it dropped that i couldnt cancel even when i was still in free trial, was told by RUK that free trial contract is part of the 12 month contract, when i mentioned the old terms & cond on the website he told me that a contract had been sent, i had a company a number of years ago threatened to call debt collectors if i didnt pay, never heard anymore, not sure how bad RUK are

just wont pay them and they cant reinstate DD without my consent, debt collectors dont have any powers to pursue me for the debt, all they can do is ring me and ask to pay
