Mr Clare, for your info the length of time for the stewards to come to a decision will depend on various important factors governing horse racing and horse riding. This procedure must not be influenced by who the sponsor of the race might be; it is certainly not for the benefit of the sponsor ie ok koral; if you don't like it get another job or sponsor another race!

ITV could have avoided this scenario quite comfortably by broadcasting the next race at Haydock after the Eclipse and still gone off air well before the football started. I appreciate they have to maintain the integrity of their schedule but the programme following the racing at 2.30pm was Midsummer Murders (I wonder what the audience figures were for that?) - it speaks volumes about the level of their commitment to racing really (can you imagine them curtailing a World Cup penalty shoot out because there were 3 mid match VAR reviews which took a total of 7 minutes?)

I'm no apologist for the BHA but they're an easy target for Clare when he should be questioning the terrestrial broadcaster's role if he's concerned abut maximising the impact of the Coral sponsorship.

Of all the bookmaker reps, and it is some band of repulsive individuals, Clare is up there with the worst of them, a truly despicable animal. But in this case he is indeed correct , the stewards enquiry was far too long, that should have been decided in 2 minutes, if indeed there should have even been one in the first place. It was abundantly clear there could not have been a change of result , so why the long delay in actually bringing closure to the matter. There is no need to bring jockeys into it, most of them are illiterate little tramps who can hardly read or write.

Seem to recall it was Clare a few years back who called price sensitive punters(i.e nicking the best odds ) parasites??

The enquiry of the Eclipse race, in hindsight, could have been resolved quicker as the result was very unlikely to be amended. But the interference of a bookie mouthpiece was downright insensitive, arrogant, abhorrent, obnoxious and totally unnecessary as it only served the bookie's self interest - bookies are already running the betting industry at their own convenient terms and conditions.

The enquiry lasted 4.5 minutes from the time when the jockeys entered the Stewards room. The delay was caused by the 2 horses taking 5 furlongs to pull up, then 5 furlongs canter back, unsaddle, jockeys photos and interviews etc. That was where most of the time went.

Sage form is spot on. It really wasn't a long enquiry. It just started later than they usually do due to the delay in the jockeys arriving. There is a process they have to go through and the stewards followed it correctly. I find the criticism pretty bizarre.

What I find bizarre is the Racing Post giving it huge front page coverage. More evidence of the RP being nothing more than a bookies' propaganda rag.

It is up to Coral and ITV to schedule the coverage to allow for this and surely another 5 minutes delay to the subsequent programme was not a big deal, particularly as no one was watching ITV after 3pm on Saturday afternoon Sandown had already agreed to bring the card forward by 90 minutes in case ITV had the England match.

Leaving the racing before the announced result of the Stewards for the nth repeat of a Midsommer Murder was certainly a bit crass however the responsibility is solely with ITV. Stewards did seem to be somewhat slow in coming to a decision but their job is to ensure the correct result ultimately pevails.Clare's petulant outburst merely confirms his status as a prize prat.

I think Simon Clare would sell his family to promote his paymaster's cause, if necessary. He is also the lowest of the low in that department, and the dimmest too; uncomfortable when being quizzed he looked and squirmed like a weasel.

He must get up and look in the mirror every morning and wonder how many lies he's got to tell on that particular day. An individual who probably couldn't care less about the Horse Racing industry, and would say whatever he's told to as long as he's getting paid for it.
