In the absence of sufficient professionalism in the stewards that are positioned to manage the outcome of a multi million pound business, why doesn’t the government appoint a body of independent scrutineers. This body could immediately raise concerns ( which most punters can see daily) and investigate cases where horses and or jockeys / trainers are not ridden/riding or instructed to obtain their best position and thereafter ban horses or jockeys or trainers accordingly. If the BHA had to adhere to Hong Kong type scrutiny the integrity of racing would be enhanced significantly. Increasingly (last 2-3 years significantly) with the increase in enhanced place betting, absolutely nothing seems to be done for failure to ride out or obtain best position.Even with the current rules of racing surely this is allegedly fraudulent. A PLC company would be subject to prosecution.

They've given up. The last thing they want is anything that draws attention to the systematic cheating endemic within the sport. Carpet lifted, brush in hand. Nothing to see here.
