Now showing July Cups. Some races full of present sires, others hardly any.

How far are they going back? Usually nothing pre-80's.

That was about it. Habibti the first in the July cup. Eclipse was from 2000-2010.

Only 19 then, so very impressed with it all.
Think it won the Guineas first time out on 3-legs beating Taj Dewan.

I love watching how much the infield changed in the years between races, I remember the same feature from last year.

The 1968 Eclipse Stakes was one of the most exciting races I ever saw in my boyhood. A rare example of that year's Derby winner (Sir Ivor) racing against the previous year's Derby winner (Royal Palace).

Interesting that it was the first time that starting stalls were used in the race.

1967 was a great finish. Great Nephew was sire of Grundy.

1971 was the great Mill Reef, some good horses in it. Welsh Pageant was a favourite of mine.
