Sean Levey and Josephine Gordon to have first pick of all runners in Group 1 races.
That might encourage some journeyrider to come out as gay.

How much money are they spending on this?

Are other sports involved? You hardly see a black face in the crowd at Wimbledon? Should they be bothered?

Perhaps they don't actually want to be involved beyond having a bet in the betting shop?

Does this work in reverse? Would a predominantly 'black event' be bothered about the lack of whites in the audience.

Start with in-house 1st. Any female in senior management role within the BHA? Any ethnic minority within the BHA? Nick Rust is all talk. Remember what he said about fobt? It was a perception blah, blah, blah...

Get someone who truly represents horse racing (not bookies) as head honcho of the BHA. Talking about sleepless nights? Nothing but waffle; he likes to give the impression (soundbites) he's actually doing something but in reality he does next to nothing.

I'm sick of being force fed diversity. Adverts, news, drama, films, sports coverage. You can't avoid it, they're all at it, you either comply or you're a racist. An opinion against, no matter how constructive is not allowed and will not be tolerated. A non stop one way crusade that will stop at nothing to have everyone thinking the same way.

'Diversity' is nothing new , it has existed ever since I can remember . I just can't recall having it rammed down my throat at every turn before and never dreamed that legislation would be drawn up to encompass it . Maybe I'm just old fashioned .

nicely put Roller....I am also sick of it being rammed down my throat at every turn.....the sooner this country moves towards a meritocratic society the better....(fat chance of that I hear you say!)...horse racing is one the few areas in society where they make a reasonable fist of it imo. Btw, just found out that there is a "UK Meritocracy Party"....could be a party that could gain some traction in time!

"in my face" is probably a more apt a description than "rammed down my throat".....we all have our preferences!! Wink

Many of the above posts could be deemed as having racist undertones by some . But to the average man in the street they represent the views of the 'silent majority' .
The silent majority are only silent because of the ridiculous labelling of anyone who voices a rational opinion or genuine concern . These same people were never silent when the world was a normal place to live .

Your " I just can't recall having it rammed down my throat at every turn before" and my "I am also sick of it being rammed down my throat at every turn" were written within a couple of minutes of each other, without me reading yours..mine in response to Roller ... the odds of that happening I wonder!

layemall - We are one and the same , two separate accounts held by the same person responding to their own posts in order to seek and gain attention .
One of us simply forgot to log out of one account before logging into the other , and now the game is up .
It's an old trick , as old as this forum and I/We fell foul of it .

One of us will have to leave the forum ....... for good !

Reynard: The only time the silent majority spoke was under the anonymity of the ballot box at the referendum and they would love to change that result.

To be honest I'm most upset at this culture of giving everyone a 'label' . Whether such a label is justified or not .
This applies to both mainstream media and social media .

For example :-
Go to Wikipedia and enter 'Black Pride' . Their definition is very accurate , certainly not one any reasonable person would disagree with .
Do the same for 'Gay Pride' . Again , a perfectly accurate and reasonable definition lies therein .
Now do the same for 'Asian Pride' . Ditto re: the above .

Now type in 'White Pride' ......................... FFS !

I thought that in this day and age one of the the easiest agencies to contact would be Health and Safety. There was nothing on the local council or County Council sites and when I phoned the Council offices they suggested I try the Social Services. That seemed only to be interested in various forms of abuse and people living in care homes or council housing. I spoke to someone who looked out the website for the Health and Safety executive. Nothing jumped out at me so I phoned them. They were only interested in safety in public buildings and places or in Council housing not in my question relating to privately owned freehold flats.
They said to ask the Citizens Advice Bureau. They wanted all my personal details before they could even listen to my problem. I suggested that he hear my problem first to no avail as he said if I get all your details I can pass them on to whatever agency can deal with your problem.
This took about fifteen minutes as he tried to pigeon hole replies. When he came to ethnic origins I said White British or do you prefer white Scottish, he did. He said that he would have to delve to find the best contacts for me and would phone me back. He did with a number and said that they were there daily from 10 till 4. I phoned and got voice mail. I briefly gave my problem and the name of the person from CAB who had contacted them. After six day I've had no response so it is just as well that I am not being abused.

Passing the buck, a practice executed to a "T" by a government department or quango; no one willing to take the responsibility. Thank goodness people of this ilk were not around when Hitler was otherwise, Britain could have been a state of Germany!

Actually this sort of thing is Thatcher's fault. Outsourcing was all about being able to pass the buck ( and let your friends make a fast buck ).
And yes Major,Blair,Brown Cameron and the present incumbent bear some responsiblity but it was the Iron Lady who opened Pandora's Box.
