Why does the BHA persist in allowing blindfolds to be kept on until the stalls open.

Tudhope nearly fell off coming out of the gate after struggling to remove the blindfold (1550 Thirsk).

I always feel robbed when one I've bet is allowed to start wearing a blindfold.

In this case the horse lost all chance. Basically I bet a horse that ran wearing a blindfold for the first stride or two.

On a more serious note: What if Tudhope had come off, with the horse still wearing the blindfold? It will happen one day and then ,maybe, the BHA will remove it's

own blindfold.

Velcro system already employed for years by many trainers at home should be used but the idea may have been rejected by the BHA.
