What most punters don't seem to understand is even that ground may have been nearer good ground, the percieved idea is that good ground great no complaints for anyone,i don't bet on good ground infact unless i know it's gd/fm or gd/sft i put a line through the meetings.Betting horses on ''good'' ground is far to vague and you are essentially guessing,i'm sure they were watering the track tis morning no way that should be happening and they sre just over compensating, unlike chepstow which is a track that does a great job.Windsor has been like this for awhile,so frustarting when you know after first race your bets are dead,as soon as those going sticks dip below 8.0 the ptobability is you will be betting on good or slower than good...as many of the going sticks will show this week..

Completely agree lads.
As an additional comment what adds a potentially bigger spanner in the works is the unpredictability of 'loose' ground which cannot be judged within a going description on the whole as the effects are so individual to the horse.
We've ended up in a position where some horses can feel uneasy with the overwatered and not naturally stabilised roots moving beneath their hooves so those affected don't put it all in giving the impression they aren't acting on the described surface.
The other obvious signs of overwatering and surface tampering can be seen quite easily everyday with all of the dolled of ground not counting fresh ground kept for multi day meetings which isn't that often.

I notice that ATR don't give the times of the races compared to RUK who always issue the time for each race. Matt Chapman was banging on all evening about the "rattling firm" ground despite the race times saying otherwise, very poor from ATR.

Three consecuitve meetings overwatered the fastest time of any race over three meetings slow by a couple of seconds that was obviously a sprint, windsor is finished as a punting track in the summer...

Was it not like tarmac last monday gig? Not checked myself so could be wrong but that was the general consensus

Last three meetings have suggested all nearer gd/sft have also noticed newbury, newmarket, carlisle later in week have the word good in description so i expect those meetngs won't be particularly quick either.Should be the best time to bet and it's the worst, better off leaving all meetings till ground gets watered naturaly, just beyiond a joke windsor is by far the worst though have never seen anything like it.
