Don't know tbh. The season halted about a week or two before normally though the break was never more than 7 or 8 weeks in my time.
Uttoxeter might have been an experiment ? Jumps only course then as now.

have you got the form book from that year, if so when was the previous jump meeting. Also the year Bob Davies and Terry B tied for the championship, that final meeting was at Uttoxeter, midweek evening, was that 69?

Uttoxeter used to have a two day meeting on Whit Monday and Tuesday which was sometimes in May and sometimes in early June. They also used to have an evening meeting in mid June.  Not sure about 68 but the 67 meeting was the evening of the 15th June.

I don't know. They held the final meeting of the 1967 season when Josh Gifford rode a treble and so broke Fred Winter's NH Season record. In 1968, Southwell had the 'honour' of holding the final meeting, so perhaps Uttoxeter felt miffed, and held a later one anyway, though it didn't count as 'end of season', and I don't know if it counted as the beginning of the next.

...should take my last couple of comments back. I'm guessing. Southwell had a race called the 'End Of Season' Steeplechase, which Uttoxeter had staged the year before.

thursday evening 13 June 1969, final meeting that season, I've found it on Glasgow Herald. 10 races, I think Davies and Biddlecombe both rode winners (names of horses only) have you got form book to check

Haven't got form books, but Johnny Cook was down to ride Golden Berry (11/8 fav) in the last race that night (the 9.30), but presumably gave way to Biddlecombe to give him the chance to draw level. All 10 races had double-digit fields, and 3 had more than 20 runners, including the last with 22.
