Everything blends together to bring about an exhilarating life-enhancing experience -the awesome arena , the Royal tradition of pageantry ,the throng of people looking their elegant best,the white heat of competition as trainers produce the choicest thoroughbreds to write fresh pages of racing history .It is a festival of excellence that is singular and nonpareil.

I think it's rather a festival for people with more money than sense, most of whom wouldn't know which end of a hoss to feed.

Unfortunately the sideshow and trimmings have now replaced the main event, a festival that is now better viewed on tv than attending in person

An absolutely brilliant spectacle. Best meeting in the world. And the culmination of all the early season form for the 3 year olds particularly. A Purists delight.

Seeing Skinto being chauffeured down the course is better than the Royal Ascot Queen's procession!

totally agree with op, mark johnston himself was writing fresh pages of racing history, fastest horse ever at goodwood / slowest horse ever at ascot ... natalies joy 5/4 fav.
