Jason Weavers take on things, "Group 1 winner on Tuesday and now in a bit of a slump today."

He failed a breathalyzer for Christ sakes, that's more than a bit of a slump in my book, that's completely unprofessional and worthy of a very lengthy ban.

That might explain the ride at Yarmouth the other week.

Comporta was the horse in question who duly won next time out with a different jockey.

Charles Bishop reported that COMPORTA lost its action and therefore he felt it prudent to pull the colt up. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of COMPORTA failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Charlie Bishop, who on Tuesday rode his first Group 1 winner when Accidental Agent sprang a 33-1 shock in the opening race of Royal Ascot, the Queen Anne Stakes, was prevented from riding on the final day of the meeting after failing a breath test.

Bishop had been due to partner Azor Ahai in the Chesham Stakes, Jungle Inthebungle (Windsor Castle), Ice Age (Wokingham) and Tempestatefloresco (Queen Alexandra).

A stewards report read: "The clerk of the scales reported that Charles Bishop had provided a sample which was found to contain alcohol above the threshold level for breath samples.

"The rider, the clerk of the scales and the sampling officer were interviewed. The matter was referred to the head office of the BHA and Bishop was suspended from riding for the rest of the day."

Accidental Agent had also been Bishop's first winner at Royal Ascot, as it was for trainer Eve Johnson Houghton. The jockey declined to comment when contacted by the Racing Post.

Eve Johnson Houghton had a staff party at their local pub in Blewbury last night to celebrate Tuesday's win. No doubt Charlie would have been in attendance. Silly boy.
