His summation of the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (posted two days ago) ...
Duke of Edinburgh excursions do not always go according to plan, of course, and in this instance I think it is worth including one in your calculations who meets few of the conventional criteria but who is a big price and showed up well on sectionals last time.
That one is SIR CHAUVELIN, who is too old on the face of it. He still managed to finish fourth in a decent time in the 10f Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar on his latest start, despite being given too much to do.
Sir Chauvelin ran at distances between 9f and 18f last year, but around 12f is where all of his winning has occurred and he should be helped by the return to this trip. He gets to go off the same mark as at Redcar.
Recommendations: 1 pt win DASH OF SPICE at 6/1, 0.5 pt win SIR CHAUVELIN at 40/1
I imagine very few Timeform followers would have failed to ignore the win only suggestion regarding SIR CHAUVELIN.

You will, I hope, forgive me if I confess that I have no idea what the "Sir Prufrock" allusion is all about.
You will also no doubt forgive me if I cut and paste another TF post ... this time regarding the winner of the Commonwealth Cup this afternoon. This was posted originally on the Timeform site on May 25th.
Eqtidaar (Timeform rating 111p) Newbury, Saturday 19th May
Eqtidaar is a rangy, attractive colt (also bred in the purple) and is one to keep firmly on side this season. He won a six-furlong maiden at Newbury on his debut last year before running below form in a listed event at Kempton (seven lengths adrift of Invincible Army). However, he gave that rival much more of a race when finishing one and a half lengths second in the Pavilion Stakes at Ascot on his reappearance this month, keen in the early stages but one of the last to come off the bridle. Eqtidaar is best not judged on his latest run in a listed race at Newbury, on the wrong part of the track and too far back to get involved when the race began in earnest. It would be no surprise were he to prove the best of that bunch in time, and he will be of interest if taking his chance in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot next month; his current odds of 25/1 look more than fair.

If you're lucky he may appear on this thread, but as he joined the forum before he was knighted he will just appear as plain Prufrock.
