DAIRA PRINCE, 6lb higher than for last month's successful Nottingham reappearance, pulled hard early but a bigger problem was that he was all dressed up with nowhere to go behind the two leaders for much of the home straight. However, his rider was on a gelding with a touch of class and despite having to to be pulled to the wide outside in order to get a run, he produced a tidy turn of foot to record a cosy success. He would have won by a lot further with a clear run and is now 2-2 in the blinkers, whilst he remains lightly raced for a 4yo.

how bout john egan on disruptor in the 6.50  at lingfield?  worth looking at for any young jockey who wants to see how to follow orders perfectly!!

de Sousa has something that the vast majority of jocks don't have, a brain

he's drawn in the middle, probably the worst place to be

they set off, all those drawn high come off the rail, de Sousa from his middle draw comes across to the rail, and then they all follow him! why didn't they just head up the rail? average jocks are just like sheep, no real mind of their own, they just follow whatever is in front of them

great ride by de Sousa to win from that draw, he's a real superstar

so must the horse be..as it appeared to have bolted.

the horse has a history of running keenly, he did the right think by letting it go and getting over to the rail

I think it's more about confidence than having a brain, most jockeys wouldn't have the confidence to do what SDS did today, they'd be reining it back or strangling it.

But de Sousa is a master of that, just allowing horses to run along on the front end in his hands, like when he won on Never Back Down at Newbury.
