cacksman?
By:
The writing was on the wall last race!
By:
yep overrated to the last, poor field and was beat two furlongs out
By:
It's ALWAYS been on the wall. Beaten in the Derby by very modest horses
By:
still beat the others miles
poor race ... |
By:
Mudlark
By:
could be a mudlark.
By:
He’ll be far better in the Arc on soft ground mark my words....
By:
not travelling in races...so cant beat the best on the quick ground...Autumn campaign beckons before stud
By:
if you think that was the real cracksman today
![]() |
By:
Clearly losing interest. Needs hurdles, not headgear
![]() |
By:
2 miler
By:
similar run to his run at the curragh where people were blaming Smullen
needs softer ground |
By:
you must all have got bombs laying it then
By:
Could be right jack..he's a good class grinder. Won't beat a top class horse on good ground longchamp.
By:
Think he has just become a lazy bugger
By:
Mr Tallywagger- sorry to ask a stoopid question, but I am new here. How do you get hurdles onto a horse to replace headgear please?
By:
FD just nudging in the last half furlong with Doyle riding at maximum, and Cracksman was gaining at the line. Essentially outpaced at this trip and going.
By:
Listen just listen Gosden sayed pre race AUTUMN was the time of year for him a huge clue in itself
bye the way I didn't play the race. |
By:
Something is hurting him.
By:
Geld him
By:
Cracksman had a hard race at Epsom Gosden didn't want to run him today but the owner insisted. He will be given a break and come back to win the Arc
They might even try him in blinkers or cheekpieces |
By:
I don't totally rule that out MJK but I think it's unlikely. Lazy in two derbies. Then win 5 before turning lazy again ?
By:
They've missed on the triumph
By:
Agree with Mick, he had a hard race at Epsom and this race came too soon. Think they would have been better off waiting for The Eclipse.
By:
supreme
By:
But if he had been a champion he wouldn't have had a hard race at Epsom
![]() |
By:
Gosden reiterated Cracksman has had his mind on the fillies in the earlier race, and not fully concentrating; his next race would be the King George VI & QE stakes.
I do agree, Gosden would not have run him so soon after having a hard race at Epsom, but for his owner. |
By:
They come out with any possible excuse when a stallion value is at stake. Everything has been mentioned except UFO in the sky.
By:
Obviously there couldn't possibly be any blame to Saint John.
By:
dont write off those gosden carrotes.
By:
He's 'class' afterwards for his interview with ITV before the race, and if it had won he would have been a superhero. Very hard to take Gosden at face value, he always has a negative about one of his before a race.
By:
I like John but he came out with a very strong comment yesterday that his horse shouldn't be favourite. He maybe shouldn't stray into betting and stick to traing horses.
By:
stray into TALKING TO TV about betting I mean.
By:
Wouldn't fancy him one bit for an Arc, he needs a long uninterrupted run to get shifting he can't pick up in an instant, big if in the Arc getting that
By:
think you're right duffy. He's like a Levmoss or Ardross but not sure if as good.
By:
patently needs further and lets not forget his father the greatest ive ever seen got lazy in his final 2 races
By:
I don't agree that was his form but he has been overrated. It seems some people need to constantly big-up the Frankel factor.
Last year's 3yo colts were not a great bunch. He was probably the best of a bad lot. Two of the bunch were tailed off today. Cracksman needed to be shaken up to beat a pacemaker on his seasonal debut and only won last time because De Sousa didn't close off the rail. He is better than this but no superstar. |
By:
Am i the only one to see it. He hit his head on the stalls.
