Probably a fair degree of pocket talking with this one but can't resist the 50/1 available for tomorrow's opener. Clearly something amiss last year with just the two runs in the season and low key return in the Lockinge some 12 lengths behind the winner, Rhodedendron. However, with that blowout under the belt and the requisite good/firm ground assured, Zonderland - who previously beat Lightening Spear (short head second in the Lockinge) over a mile at Goodwood - appeals to me as one who might substantially outrun their odds. Will maybe be left in the back and beyond of Berkshire but willing to find out at that price, given the field of a plethora of horses I've never been able to catch right.
