THE T.I.M. FIAT NOTTINGHAM HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6)
Prior to this race, a query was raised with Scott Dixon, the trainer of OPTIMICKSTICKHILL, into the reasons why he was running the filly here at Nottingham on going officially described as Good, Good to Firm in Places, having been declared a non-runner at Catterick on 1 June 2018 on going with the same official description. The trainer stated he felt the ground was quicker than described at Catterick, and having worked the filly at home on quick ground, he feels that she would be able to cope with the Good, Good to Firm in places at Nottingham.
Prior to this race, a query was raised with Ben Haslam, the trainer of FUNKADELIC, into the reasons why he was running the gelding here at Nottingham on going officially described as Good, Good to Firm in Places, having been declared a non-runner at Catterick on 1 June 2018 on going with the same official description. The trainer’s representative stated that following a rain shower at Catterick, in his opinion the going was slower than described and FUNKADELIC is better suited to today’s quicker going at Nottingham.
