How many times on the trot is that now that this horse has been given an atrocious ride?

He's been gelded and had a wind op over the winter and either he hasn't adjusted yet or it has spectacularly backfired because the horse has no zip or change of gear. The horse made up a great deal more ground, from a far worse position than today, last year over CD to get within a length of winning. Haven't put up the time of the race yet but unless it was a very slow time it seems the problem is with the horse more than the jock.

Cosgrove rode him closer to the pace first time up but the horse found nothing after traveling very well and better than any other horse in the race for some time. If it was in the form of last year he would have sailed past this bunch but it just isn't there imo. That's not to say it won't come back at some point but it's a big question mark hanging over the animal now.
