More likely to have withdrawn it when he saw the jock. Doyle now 0/5 on horse. Now lost on his last 12 rides including 5 favourites at 13/8 or shorter.

O/5 on the horse but the story behind those stats, he was 25/1 x 2, pulled up lame @ 15/2. Today was disappointing but what exactly did he do wrong? The lad pulled him out to give the horse a fair crack at them and the horse simply didn't pick up.

You conveniently missed out the 6/9 at 5/2JF under similarly ideal conditions to today. Not smarting at all just questioning whether it was such a good idea to put up a jock with a 100% losing record on a horse who doesn't win very often.
Yes, he did win the next race (amazing how often that happens) but normal service resumed in the last when he ran out of track on a 12/1-4/1 gamble. Another horse that he didn't get settled in the early part of race - something he doesn't seem particularly good at doing. |
