It is a bit difficult tbf. I'm not that far from Doncaster and there was a really heavy downpour this morning for about an hour. I think there probably is too much watering but trainers seem to have got very fussy about firm ground in recent decades.

nobody wants firm ground but there is certainly too much watering
it used to be the case that g/f was being aimed for in flat racing but a lot of clerks talk about aiming for good ground now |
