Are you telling me It's that difficult to find one to get beat?

Stop fawning over these 1 lay a day posters.

It's a piece of pish, even I managed to pick 7 in a row then got bored, and I'm a guesser.

Let's get some proper tipsters on here tipping WINNERS, (like Meat Loaf, cool eddy and others) instead of the one a day layers getting their ego massaged by effectively looking at horses that go red on oddschecker then putting up that they will not win.

I'm not convinced.

Meat Loaf done great but I think he's more NH than flat. Hopefully he'll return in the autumn.

SL,

I respect everyones opinion on this forum, it's all about debate and as long as posters are constructive, i never have an issue with it. I may not necessarily agree of course, and in this context, i have a couple of comments to your post ......

effectively looking at horses that go red on oddschecker then putting up that they will not win.

This is totally incorrect, i've stated several times on my lay threads i don't take notice of early movements in betting odds.

I generally post mid-morning to lunchtime. Yesterdays selection was backed before i posted (traded at 3.1). I layed at 2.62 and later it went 2.32 that i saw. At race time, it drifted from 11/8 to 2/1. Many of my lays are favourite, look at the record. I can't foresee 'drifters' anyway, i don't have a crystal ball.

I also have a self-imposed maximum 5/2 bookmaker odds limit on my threads. I have this for the my own 'challenge' and it wouldn't be interesting if i put up lays at 5/1. I also update the p/l for transparency.

I managed to pick 7 in a row then got bored

WD, but you also posted recently that you had 25 (? i can't remember the exact number) losing bets in a row Wink

I did 14/14 on the thread when it started and it's now 33/38, all with the 5/2 max odds constraint. My highest layed odds appear to be 3.85, lowest 2.28. I also add a lengthy essay on my reasoning instead of ...... lay XYZ 4.30 Ascot.

I certainly don't need any massaging of my ego, i can get that from my daughter. I only did this as a 'fun project' as i was convalescing at home, but wouldn't have otherwise. I rarely posted backs or lays on here in the past, even with my previous ID.

Good luck.

StillLearning, agree with u that it’s easier to find the Laybet, than the winner, but most obvious winners are usually short prices which if under 2/1 aren’t great value, as u could put in a double up Laybet to get your win,to find longer price winners is a mixture of info, fancy ratings systems eg Skinto access to timing splits especially on the all weather eg Sir Hugh which have less courses and therefore less variables
Then there are the in running players who have a edge by having faster pics, but u still have to have your wits about u ,as it can go horribly wrong

SL, please clarify if you are green with envy or yellow with jealousy or a little of both, lay threads are easily avoidable, so just pass them on if they are not your thing, your post is embarrassing and wreaks of sour grapes I am afraid, and I will be surprised if it gathers little if any support.

stick to the flat, uk only, win and place and check out how the bsp fav has fared for the past month.
you will have a different outlook. never base anything racing wise on one days results

Corkn not jealous or envious I prefer to do my own betting, I'm not really a follower. I get the enjoyment from making my own decisions (maybe not so enjoyable when I lose). I was trying to say I think it's a bit over hyped tipping one lay a day as I don't think it's that difficult. But evidently it is for me.

Good luck to the lay posts I've finished reading them now as you say. I will go on trying my own way

All about opinions SL, you may have a point about the amount of exposure accredited but that only serves to show how devoid this place is these days of genuine posters who make an effort, when one comes along, as Andrew has during his enforced absence from work, people are only too happy to see him flourish, what is not to like, he is thorough, polite and doesn't take himself too serious, it should be remembered that he has been around along time prior to this recent escapade.

Accepted that it is not your approach but without different opinions this place would not survive, best of luck for the future
